snake charming
Kirby and i nearly overslept. We managed to get everything done without a hurry, and still had some time left to read a portion of the Margo Maloo1 volume.
My parents picked Kirby up from school, and they spent the afternoon flying kites.
I did laundry and dishes and spent the rest of the day at work, returning shortly before midnight. Could have left earlier, one of the new colleagues was on disassembly duty, and i was tasked with helping him. Since he wasn't sure about what was and wasn't needed to be put away/needed to be changed in preparation for tomorrow, i stayed with him until the end. In the process i hit my knee with a Powerlock2 plug; when i applied a good shake to the cable, to loosen it from the cable ramp, it flew towards my person, like a snake m, and in my momentary fascination with the fierceness and elegance that cable flung in the air, i stayed perfectly still, getting "bitten". Despite the pain, there was no bruise left, just a patch of scraped skin.
It was also the first time i took out my new pocket computer—that's what i'm referring to a smartphone from now on—; those have become heavier compared to my old one from seven years ago.
I realised, even when the new device got told all the tricks of the trade from its predecessor, i still needed to re authorise all my banking stuff, when it was time to pay for my lunch. As you probably know, i'm glad to spent my lunch break in the company of loneliness, this time i was glad a colleague came along and helped me dodge the egg coming towards my face; and in doing that, settled the tab he opened with me, and i had forgotten about in the 13 years since.
