Dispatches from Asteroid Hopkins

ball bearing fairground

We all know it's already bad enough to step on a piece of Lego, and even if it didn't happen so far, Kirby's new thing, of placing Lego figures under his pillow, makes me fear waking up to a body that won't respond to my biddings of movement, due to a piece of Lego pressing against a nerve; with Doctors trying their best, but overlooking the piece of plastic, since my muscles are so tensely closed around it, that it almost embedded itself in my body in the hours my weight descended upon it. Someday i get lifted up, the Lego piece falls off, and due to the sudden relaxation, my heart gives out and its curtains. The film version of the story will make Lego retire their DreamZzz1 line of products.
Anyway, Kirby called for one of us early in the morning, i picked him up, and took him to our bed for another hour of sleep, and when we got up i saw, he brought two figures with him, one of them wearing a wide brimmed hat.

We spent the time until i left for work with reading, surprise, Margo Lagoo2 again. And he showed me his new Perplexus ball: The Beast[^beast], which is a roller coaster for ball bearings. After two tries i had to stop, due to the thing just overwhelming me. Also, at the same time, the Wive and Kirby played Asterix & Obelix - Mission: Babylon and i'm already in a constant autistic burn-out mode these days, so i put the thing away. The old Perplexus ball was donated to the toy library of Kirby's school.

Work was … the concert we hosted was strange in a sense that it was a cash grab that did not work out, and the few people that got played didn't mind and enthusiastically celebrated the proceedings. They were the sort of people that build their being around this one thing, and therefore probably only saw silver linings.
