Dispatches from Asteroid Hopkins

Had to come into work earlier, and when i arrived got informed, that it wouldn't had been necessary. Used the time to train my handwriting. Let's see, how it looks tomorrow.
Short Circuit 2 ran in the back of my mind when i saw this:

The ambush on Johnny 5 also ambushed my mind. I dream about that sometimes…

After watching the Manben episode with Otomo-sama1—which doesn't show Otomo-sama work, but is nonetheless recommended viewing—i tried to copy the floating stone Urasawa-sama drew.

floater

Watched the last two episodes of the third season of Foundation. The twist is, well they wanted to subvert expectations, and managed to do so; did it feel earned tough—that is something, people who are more firm in their knowledge of the text and screenwriting have to decide. I think it was a cheap move. I applaud Toran's outfits throughout the season, having him show up in a dress for the infiltration is only possible in a "premium TV" setting, any other Sci-Fi show would have had him put on commando gear instead. And as much as i like to shit on Goyer, i fear the show will suffer due to his departure.
What i don't get, like with everything these days, is all the hate the show gets. Quit your subscription and move on; and if one saw it on the high seas, watch something else.

Let's stay with content from the high seas; i'm pissed that Toei is streaming the current Kamen Rider series outside of japan, but region locked! We europens dig Tokusatsu too, dammit. I'd pay to stream that stuff alongside Super Sentai and Ultraman. There is a big group of people who'd translate the shows already, so there is personell. I guess it's time to try and learn Japanese again… There are a lot of shows that are good, but don't get an official or fan made subtitles; while locally produced stuff feels like the same thing being made over and over again, and if there is genre stuff, it's made for shits and giggles. Or i am much too snobbish…

I'm applying corrective measures to almost all the Asterix Radio plays. Those are all recorded too loud, and i think, i found a software setting and a few filters, that will make them sound less harsh.
