Dispatches from Asteroid Hopkins

lapsed reader

Came home around 1h30, and didn't fall asleep until much later. So Kirby and the Wife let me sleep in. Saw them for a few minutes after i got up, they met with the a few others from the baseball team for some practice.

My body was still sore and just unwell from yesterday.
Watched Sorry, Baby!, which was … harrowing. Not as a movie, it's a brilliant movie about a troublesome topic, it rather made me rethink my «manliness», which i haven't given an extra thought about, but only recently—more or less ten years ago—i started feeling the privileges and freedom i have as someone who identifies as a white cis male, that's what the kids are saying, right? I feel like i haven't payed properly for all my intentional and unintentional unfair- and miss treatment of the women in my life…

Kirby discovered Dogman, and isn't sure if he likes it. For some reason, the first book isn't available in any bookstore we could think of.

My Mum seems to like the book we got her for the holidays. I asked her to tell me if she didn't like it, so i can narrow down further what she might like. My Mother used to be an avid reader until her 40s. I guess she's like me, she doesn't like going to the stores to discover things, but is unfair about browsing for goods on the internet. Now that i think about it, her brother got her an e-reader, perhaps she's using that?
