it's an opperetta
It felt like the wind started to take up speed after i walked a few steps towards the tram station. All the loose snow started to swirl through the air; i anticipated it to hurt in my face, the cold wind had numbed my skin by then. Over the last couple of days, the neurodermatitis flared up in my face again. I was lucky, that i had an almost full tube of ointment left in the back of the medicine cabinet. Had no trouble for the last few years, but it seemed i was clear-sighted enough to get a replacement after the last one expired. I'm always hesitant to use it, due to it being easy to »overdose«. At one point, the skin that got treated with to much ointment keeps less moisture in and it's not the neurodermatitis flaring up, but dry skin, which in my case is easily confused.
Work was weird. Although the production had detailed plans, and yet, had to adapt a lot of the hardware. My guess was, that there had been an error in scale or misleading measurements in the CAD plans. Whatever, there was an uneasiness amongst the crew, the video crew was borrowed from a different production due to theirs having to set up their stuff in the next venue.
Later in the day i got a message from a co-worker saying, that the show ran like clockwork, and even ended earlier; the intermission was omitted. Wonder how many people waited for pee time; and how many felt their full bladder after they left the heated venue into the winter night.
Kirby and the Wife went swimming. They showed me a few photos and videos of Kirby swimming, and my heart grew while i watched how he moved through the water, despite the earplugs he has to wear and the possibility of starting at square one with his hearing, if his eardrums get flooded with water—the chances are near zero due to his fitted earplugs. I still don't take the chance 35 years after i had the same problem with my ear canals—they retain water and ear wax, which leads to chronic infections, hearing loss, and dizziness.
Finished my latest Korean Court Drama/Soap Opera, Pro Bono. Usual fare, an operetta with plot holes/flashback solutions, but charming. I'm a bit pissed that the case about abortion never got fully escalated; but i've watched it in bed, and might have missed a part here or there…
Also sat down and started reading the german The Phantom1 magazine; and it's a lot of fun. Feels well translated, and is thick chunk of a comic for a »good« price.
