whipped
Went to a swedish … is Ikea even a furniture store anymore? It rather seems like going to church, or rather, a furniture & interior design store for members of a cult. We bought a few things to organize some spaces. Kirby was bored, but nonetheless, was a great help by trying to find something to occupy his mind.
On the way home we picked up a copy of the boardgame Scotland Yard1. Kirby found it in an old catalogue at my parent's place, the artwork and the theme of a fleeing person being chased intrigued him. We played with the «child friendly» rules, and the Wife evaded us with ease.
The Wife met friends from university who she hasn't seen in a while. Kirby did some homework—im amazed how fast he reads, and retains the information from the text; that was something i was struggling at his age—and i let him watch Batwheels2 afterwards. While he was watching, i made the books/comics ready for pickup by assembling a few boxes for them; i also hung up washed laundry to dry. Because we were both in a flow state, Kirby watched far to many episodes… It's not the worst thing a kid can watch these days, still, the parent in me whipped me for the rest of the day.
Kirby also asked about Kamen Rider henshin devices, and he digs Gavv's belt3. It's on sale at HLJ … but after using it ten times, he'll never look at it again.
