forklift after dark
I slept two hours longer, due to having to work at night.
While brushing my teeth, i noticed Kirby putting something in his bag. When asked, he told me, he'd had talked with his teacher, and was allowed to bring one of his stuffed animals to school. Yesterday i got told by the same person—Kirby's teacher—, that the kid's toys should stay in their rooms; so i told Kirby to leave his stuffed buddy at home. Later in the day, the Wife told me, that the Teacher did indeed allow Kirby to bring something to school, she forgot to tell me. That message arrived, when some shit went down at work, that sent a group of colleagues into a downward spiral, and reminded us, when our boss goes out to "tell someone that this won't go through", we should prepare that it will happen no matter what.
I felt angry … first that thing with Saint Nick handing out fountain pens, even for the kids, who're excused from religious education, and now the rule to leave toys at home gets overruled in less than 24 hours after it was communicated to the parents. Let's drop our pants, and shit on everything, shall we? It's unfair to the other kids, and i'm angry i wasn't told, he got an excuse. I could have believed him, but Kirby has mastered the art of small lies to a certain mastery, so i'm sometimes extra suspicious.
Work was … long. Driving a forklift after midnight should be forbidden. Had to get something from outside the venue, and all of a sudden, a group of tipsy people came out of the shadows, and took a seat on the load with the question, if i could drive them to the cabbies. A short burst backwards convinced them, that this wasn't the safest idea they had that day. Nobody got hurt, only a reminder, that this wasn't a carnival ride and there is a big sticker on the front signaling, to not sit on the load.
Alien: Earth's fifth episode was great. It's a retelling of the first Alien movie, with a twist on the Alien part, and in this version, the women screw up, and the person we follow doesn't give a damn about the crew. That should drive the cellar dwellers to get a Disney+ subscription, won't it? Read it as you may, i thought it was a strange "change", and i'm tired of baddies having to be put into one of the "reasons for being an antagonist" cupboards; just let them be antagonists. Yet, the episode is made well, it captures the claustrophobic feeling of the original by utilizing our conditioning in regards to the franchise.
