company sanctioned play
First day at work. Should have stayed at home.
The Kids went all out at Baseball practice. It felt, like they've all found their place in the team and now they're truly playing.
We had a parent meeting in the late evening, and it wrecked me, due to all the things the team wants the parents to do. With my work schedule, i can't get anything other done, than bring Kirby to training. And the Wife shouldn't have to do more than she already does.
Every day i'm reminded of why i didn't want kids, and should have gotten a vasectomy instead of trusting the infertility diagnosis i got.
Lego's Smart Play System1 … feels like they've given up. As a tinkerer/technician/technology enthusiast, i'm in; i want to at least, try it out once. BUT: Lego has become stale over the last couple of years. The System still enables to create, with the different external and internal licenses, the subjective number of tools/bricks was reduced. To me, the whole brand seems to exist as a trimmed down IP processor. They do still make sets that remind of «the good old days», and even those largely feel like a build-your-own action figure set or a diorama for the minifigures. There are third party companies that can help with that, back to Smart Play, which abandons creativity, and takes imagination with it. You don't have to imagine or make plane noises anymore, Smart Play gives you a sanctioned set of foley sounds.
The system will be hacked at some point, yet, not everyone will be tech savvy enough or have the time to do it.
They should have brought Mindstorms2 back.
