cab ride confessions

For some reason, Kirby is nervous about tomorrow.

We heard that starting with next year, working on sundays and national holidays won't be taxed. The question is: how will the «lost» sum be compensated for? At this point, nobody is holding their breath for taxes regarding financial transactions beyond a certain sum or, god forbid, taxing wealth. Just remembered, i'm an atheist.
Yesterday, a colleague had some spare time to fill during an assembly shift, and did that with reading through the contractual obligations we have, when a production rents our cables. Turns out, they rent the cables, they'd have to pay extra to get the connector put on point; and so far nobody got billed for that. He put that knowledge to the test, and started a fire. It'll be put out when the department manager returns from the holidays, probably with a «We did it this way since forever, we're going to continue. Don't worry about the company, we're compensating for the lost inquiries with keeping vacant posts unoccupied.» Taxes on overtime will probably be cut too. Another colleague broke his kneecap last week, and came in with his leg in plaster, which made sense when we asked ourselves what is taking him so long on his way from the sound booth to the stage. I told him to go home, while i do his work—which was to remove a few speaker so the stage could be lifted without damaging any equipment; which is manageable with a cast, but can't be comfortable.

The production payed for a cab ride, which i took them up upon, and got one of the drivers who's job it seemed to be, to educate people on how Ukrainian refugees destroy austria because everyone of those is a millionaire who's out to bleed the welfare state dry. He became quiet after he got my answer on his questions on where i live and since when, guess «natives» are leeches as well.

Binged through Just a bit Espers, a japaense tv-show about people who gain abilities after ingesting a capsule handed out by a cooperation. They now go on missions to save the world. The powers are small scale, the missions also—change Suske's alarm clock, so he wakes up five minutes earlier—, and it's incredibly charming; with a dark undertone, that becomes the main story and gets resolved in an unsatisfying way; at least for me. My guess is that hopes are up for a series two. Until then, The Hot Spot reigns supreme on my soul food television list.
