Dispatches from Asteroid Hopkins

angry bruiser

I was starting the day jittery, due to the group project being continued in occupational therapy. Turns out: it was alright. The new group member and us two «old hats» gelled brilliantly. At least i felt that way. We just worked and chatted and got to know each other. However, it did take a lot out of my energy reserves, and even a long stint in the recuperation room didn't help.
While working i talked with the new group member i thought i had accidentally offended yesterday, and it seems i was overthinking. Phew.
Listened to the latest Steven Wilson album, The Overview1, which is this mix of … Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Brian Eno, The Beatles and whatever genre of Electronic he uses. It's good, but tiring. Heard both 20 minute pieces in one go in the waiting area of the rehab facility's lobby with people coming by, and active noise cancellation on a bluetooth connection from an .aac File from my phone; so far off from my regular rig, which isn't a high-end audio enthusiast's dream, but only delivers to my bass head—Toff looked at me like i told him i eat toddlers for breakfast, when he listened to it, and found out i slowed the signal response time to slow songs down a tad, which to his ears sounded like wading through mud.

The evening … i had to find out who lied to me about the actual sweets intake Kirby had, when he stayed with my parents. I was pissed about my parents allowing such an excess; they already get a lot of leeway in their treatment of Kirby, this time they reached my limit, this was the ground zero for the kid's digestion troubles… I feel like it's not enough that my brother is a constantly relapsing alcoholic, and i'm a depressed ragdoll of a person, they need to mess up Kirby too.
The anger caused me to hit myself to get me out of the spiral, leaving a trail of bruises in my face. Rehab tells me to trust in people, i get blindsided by people.
