a hole
I forgot to write, that we had picked up a roll of «Bubble Insulation Radiant Barrier» which we fixed to the wall behind our radiators. It's something i wanted to do for a long time. It won't work wonders with heating costs, but might help with getting the rooms up to temperature. The house our flat is located in, is one of those that have been hastily cobbled together for employees of the local post and railway company—which is a shame, given that not all of the people living here had the opportunity to build a house somewhere, and actually lived here for 40 years. It's not a hellhole, it needs extra care in some places. And new windows in the foreseeable future. The experiment with the sleeping mats changed things for the better—subjectively—and the foil seems to do it's job of reflecting the cold from the wall as well as the heat from the radiator, well.
We slept shorter and better than we anticipated.
Kirby started the day with The Lego Batman Movie, and during the day, we watched some educational shorts about the Moon, Assembly Lines, Lock Mechanisms, Sand sculptures, and how a Zoo organizes to get the animals in their care fed. Later we watched a few episodes from Tales of the TMNT, and that show is an animated heart attack; i dig it—also, the dub is better than i anticipated, there's still the sense of most of the voice talent performing in a vacuum. Or am i just burnt by all the bad dubs that happened over the last couple of years.
The company that produces the watch Kirby uses as his emergency phone answered my question about their battery life sent me an answer in form of a questionnaire. Got all of them answered, and even put in some extra effort, and made a chart with the decline battery status after each hour. After 11,5 hours of no usage other than waking the screen to check the battery status, it's at 4%. I'll let it charge and recharge for a complete cycle again, and then do a second round.
The new year is not even 24 hours old, and i already spent to much money on fixing a hole in me, that only selflove will fill…
