wrecked legs
Phew, i tried out a few exercises with a colleague who started a fitness regimen in march, and my legs are wrecked. Ten minutes were enough; i must have hallucinated me running back in the day.
The trailer for the Masters of the Universe movie1 … annoyed me. The slowed down rock anthem version of the theme song, the constant pondering to the audience about how they translated the ridiculousness of the original into a as much as possible, life action version, and the elephant in the room of Adam returning from »the real world« to free Eternia from Letor. It could be great, i suspect it won't.
Backrooms2 … it will be interesting to witness, how the concept will be translated into a narrative for a larger audience. It can't get any more niche than the Backrooms, and in that weird state that A24 seems to be at the moment, it's particularly interesting to see what happens with it. Nonetheless, Kanepixels' work3 will exist alongside the movies, and i find them entertaining.
Supergirl will be interesting. The comic series it's largely based on—Woman of tomorrow—is a brilliant thing; it can't fulfil what it set out to do, but there is Bilquis Evely's artwork which brings the whole thing on another level; and got a kind of »spiritual« sequel with Helen of Wyndhorn4. So i wonder, will the movie be a more refined version of the comic?
The 50 year anniversay issue of Eternals was an experience. Marvel seems to have planned something, otherwise the announcement of a forgotten Eternal wouldn't make any sense … well, nobody knows when Miracleman will finally do something—my guess back then was, that the Sentry and the Void would get fused and end up becoming a version of Miracleman5.
Found a series of books called Vermis6, which is a guide to a videogame that doesn't exist. It feels like a spin on Dark Souls7, Blasphemous8 and the likes. I like the book, due to it pulling out the memory of reading game guides for games we didn't have in magazines, feeling like we had played them. The way those guides were written made it tangible. Anyway, i'm digging the whole »dream logic« it operates on, even if they're mostly nightmares, it gives you a glimpse of an aspect of a person.
Let's go further down that road, and let me point you towards the Codex Seraphinianus9 by Luigi Serafini, which i sold my copy of, and deeply regret it.
